PROJECT A AND A — TWO VIEWS, ONE IMAGE

PROJECT A AND A — TWO VIEWS, ONE IMAGE

Alani Cruz, an American photographer living in Tokyo, and Amy Yang, a Taiwanese photographer living in Taipei, have never met but have been sending each other exposed rolls of analog film for two years. One shoots a whole roll and sends it to the other, who then puts it in his/her camera and shoots over it with no prior knowledge of the underlying images. The double exposed images give life to a new story by blending two different lives into one. They’ve turned out surprisingly beautiful. Some even look so perfect that they seem as if they where made for each other. For their exhibition in Berlin, the two photographers will meet for the first time to present some of their favorite joint works from Project A and A. (Text: Sven Hausherr)
