PUT A CHARM ON IT: REOPENING & CUSTOMIZATIONS AT DR. MARTENS

PUT A CHARM ON IT: REOPENING & CUSTOMIZATIONS AT DR. MARTENS

Yellow stitching and ribbed soles… say no more! What began in 1960 as functional footwear for workers has become a symbol of independence and self-determination — Dr. Martens. Anyone who wants a taste of it or to get to know the shoes anew should make their way to Neue Schönhauser Straße this weekend (14.-15.03.2025). The British cult label is returning with a new store concept and presenting the classic boots with a creative twist. Artwork by Berlin artist Viktoria Cichón draws a relationship between streetwear and Berlin’s cultural diversity. If you want to get artistic yourself, join Dr. Martens’s customization tour. In collaboration with Necklays, they will offer visitors the opportunity to personalize boots and shoes with charms from the local jewelry label. You can embellish your old favorites and new Docs to make them even more your own. The rule is first come, first serve. If you’re looking for timeless classics, creative projects, and a wearable piece of self-determination, the search begins this weekend — on rippled soles.
