REPAIR & UPCYCLING WORKSHOPS AND INSTORE ART — LIFEWEAR DAYS AT UNIQLO

REPAIR & UPCYCLING WORKSHOPS AND INSTORE ART — LIFEWEAR DAYS AT UNIQLO

Broken buttons, torn seams and faded colors – three sure signs it’s the end of the road for your favorite jeans. But before banishing your beloved garments to the bin, why not try your hand at repairing them with help from the fashion-forward team at Uniqlo. The clothing brand is offering free workshops for fixing up your clothes at the “Second Life Studio” located in the Uniqlo Flagship Store on Tauentzienstraße in Charlottenburg. Open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the studio is offering workshops every second Saturday from this week that will show you how to repair or repurpose any Uniqlo item – though you can of course use your new skills for any garment. They’re part of the LifeWear Days program that includes special workshops and colorful in-store artwork showing scenes of Berlin city life from illustrator Laura Breiling. At the “Paint Your Jeans” session (13.11.2021) you can give old jeans new flair by applying fresh colors or upcycling them into a handy bag.

If your items are still wearable and you would prefer them to go to a good cause, you can also donate them to the Berliner Stadtmission. The organization is a partner for the Second life Studio and provides clothing and other support to people in difficult circumstances. You can help the cause by handing in your items next time you shop at any of Uniqlo’s Berlin stores. Speaking of shopping: once you’ve got your jeans back into shape, why not take the chance to refresh your winter wardrobe with some pieces from the A/W LifeWear collection. Pick from natural-fiber knits, Heattech undergarments that use cutting-edge materials to keep you warm, and the compact Ultra Light Down jackets made from recycled or certified responsible down. Our favorite is the vest, which is a perfect add-on to wear under your favorite jacket for extra warmth.
