The restaurant “Kantine” in Joachimstrasse was truly lovely. Hidden in a courtyard space of an old factory building, the place was charming with its loft-like atmosphere. Last spring the restaurant was demolished but the owners have now opened a new location close by in a former Brazilian spot. “Lokal” opened this week and you can have lunch (7-8€) or enjoy their savory pan-European dishes for dinner (main course 12-19€) in the airy yet cozy atmosphere. The light-flooded interior, the solid wood tables, and the smell of fresh flowers – the spirit of “Kantine” has been kept alive.
