In the US people refer to their destination by counting the number of “blocks” in between, whereas here, in Berlin, people love their “Kiez” but no one thinks in terms of blocks. But actually it’s possible: the houses on Skalitzer-, Adalbert-, Mariannen- and Oranienstrasse can be seen as one block; where a diverse and exciting city life is packed into all day and night including SO36, West Germany or restaurants like Hasir, just to name a few. So if you wish to familiarize yourself with this special block (including “A Ecke O”), join “Rock the Block”, a two day event hosted by Backjumps in collaboration with Kunstraum Kreuzberg Bethanien, curated by Adrian Nabi. There will be plenty of exhibitions, for example at at Vierte Welt and Merkezi; there will be a roller disco at SO36, and much more.
