On Friday night, being one of the participants of the abc Gallery Night, Dittrich & Schlechtriem present the opening of the exhibition No Joke, by American Johannesburg-based artist Roger Ballen and Danish New York-based artist Asger Carlsen. The exhibition displays a long-distance collaborative series between the two artists, consisting of a series of 37 black and white photographs, manipulated and turned into photo-collages by using a variety of different techniques. The artists are both known for working with the subconscious and are of the opinion that the art is more powerful and has a bigger impact when it is undefinable.
