SCHILLERBURGER – NEUKÖLLN’S NEWEST BURGER JOINT

SCHILLERBURGER – NEUKÖLLN’S NEWEST BURGER JOINT

Berliners love burgers. There are burgers sizzling everywhere, so naturally Schillerkiez in Neukölln has its own burger eatery as well. The name is an homage to Friedrich Schiller, one of Germany’s most famous writers, and all burgers are named after well-known Schiller protagonists. When ordering, however, I highly recommend telling the nice guys behind the counter exactly what kind of burger you want, instead of the names like “Wallenstein”; during busy times they tend to get confused. The small restaurant has quickly become a popular spot down here so you must be patient, a good burger requires time! The best part of Schiller burgers is the bun, which is neither the typical cardboard bread nor the soggy sponge, but freshly baked and yummy! In terms of meat, my beef-eating friends gave it a big thumbs up. The veggie burger is improvable in my opinion, but their tasty sweet potato fries makes up for it!
