On a lucky day you might find a classic beige Jil Sander sweater for 30 Euros at Veist, but you won’t only get the sweater, you get a story along with it too. That’s the concept behind the boutique “Veist”; each piece comes with a hang tag with a story behind it. The store’s selection is focused on classy pieces – I’d call it select and rare. You’ll find unworn vintage dresses, hip pre-owned pieces such as flannel shirts for boys or 80’s dresses, shoes and bags. Knitted accessories by Anna Veit (116 Ligne Noire), one half of the two girls behind the store, complement the range. The other half is Sandra Diana Troegl, and if she’s there she’ll be at your service and provide all kinds of tips. In case your budget is low, every now and then they throw swapping parties (check Facebook) or you can browse the box by the window and if you find a piece to keep you can leave a little something; money will be donated to the living project for adolescents (Sozialpaedagogisches Jugendwohnen). You can also bring your own clothing on consignment – especially shoes go quick.
