Amsterdam experimental music group Snowapple Collective bring their hopeful new album “Utopia” to Berlin’s Theater im Delphi. Are you looking for a little serving of hope in a precarious world? You may find just that in the new album “Utopia” from experimental, multi-genre music group Snowapple Collective. In an era when it’s tempting to conclude that every bad person seems to be having a great time, the record – songs from which will be performed live at Theater im Delphi on 21.06.2025 – is all about exploring “hopeful perspectives on the future”. Musically, the songs by the Amsterdam-based group are discordant and dreamy – lead vocalist and clarinetist Laurien ‘She’ Snowapple lends an organic richness to the sometimes jarring instrumentation. The group say their latest work is influenced by avant-garde pioneer Laurie Anderson, with the music occupying an intriguing territory somewhere between Portishead and Patti Smith. The group returns to Germany after 13 years with their concert on 21.06 – strings, synths, guitars and percussion will fill the dramatic stone space of the Theater im Delphi with its arched proscenium and vaulted ceilings. If you are after an evening of ethereal escapism for your news-fatigued mind, this is certainly one of the hot picks for June.
