In the top three of my absolute favorite places for art and culture, Soft Power is number one. Its founders, Linnéa Bake, Donna Donnerberg, Eva Herrmann and Melissa Lücking, have joined forces to create an independent place to realize projects by young artists and designers. In my opinion, it’s a concept that is long overdue. The team’s curatorial approach draws on the internal and the external in a critical way. Their events are very open and welcoming to anyone of any age, background or interest. Currently, Soft Power is running a residency programme for artists to realize their ideas in an intimate working atmosphere. Past projects and events have included art by painter Jina Park, feminist lettering from Charlotte Rhode and a performance by Lena Platanos. Events and exhibitions are always announced in advance on Instagram.
