LAETITIA GENDRE SOLO SHOW AT THOMAS FISCHER GALLERY

LAETITIA GENDRE SOLO SHOW AT THOMAS FISCHER GALLERY

I first noticed the work of Laetitia Gendre in 2008. The 1973 born French artist is best known for her drawings but her second solo exhibition at the Thomas Fischer gallery includes much more: hand-drawn, photographed and printed film posters, a footage of an industrial machine breaking down, stills from imaginary films, and outlines of Aby Warburg’s Mnemosyne Atlas. The description sounds mysterious to me. So to understand the bigger picture of “The Fake The Fold and The Erased”, visiting her opening at one of the most interesting Berlin-based galleries is on my Friday evening agenda.
