SPANISH ART INFLUENCES ON BERLIN ART SCENE

The exhibition “Circuito Berlín 012” is currently showcasing 15 works by Spanish artists. Curator Maria Maza wanted to not only present contemporary works from her homeland on the Iberian peninsula but to underline the influences the Spanish art has made on Berlin’s art scene throughout the past 15 years, and vice versa. Among the participating artists is Tere Recarens (see here for her monograph); for her video “He” in 2003 she found her very own way of connecting to Berliners. She went on a journey through Berlin asking strangers to inhale Helium and then talk to the camera. The exhibition is organized by the Embassy of Spain and Instituto Cervantes and ongoing until August 10.
