ST.AGNES & JOHANN KÖNIG — EINE KIRCHE FÜR DIE KUNST

ST.AGNES & JOHANN KÖNIG — EINE KIRCHE FÜR DIE KUNST

The massive St. Agnes Church scrapes the Kreuzberg sky on Alexandrinenstrasse. Even before this sacred space turns officially into a gallery of Johann König, it will already host a special exhibition: “Public Works – Architecture by Civil Servants”. It is dedicated to the creator of Brutalist church architecture, Marcel Düttmann, and his contemporaries, Berlin architects of the 60s and 70s. The retrospective focuses on the documentation of the St. Agnes Church in times past and in current state. An exciting preview of the new and uncommon premises for Art in Kreuzberg.
