The Berlin Circus Festival returns to Tempelhofer Feld for its 11th edition. Running away to join the circus – a wonderfully romantic idea that most of us would consider utterly impractical. Luckily you can get a taste of adventure and escape without giving up your permanent address by attending the Berlin Circus Festival, which returns to Tempelhofer Feld for its 11th edition on 30.07.2025. Spread across three tents and an open-air stage, the 12-day program mixes circus performance and acrobatics with theatrical elements, music and narrative. Highlights from the lineup (50 percent of which comprises women and non-binary artists) include the likes of hula hoop show Mother.Woman.Artist, a raw solo performance by Marianna De Sanctis that explores the tension between motherhood and art (03 & 04.08, 18h). Elsewhere, Memoirs of Mud by Finnish circus collective Sisus is a daring, poetic duet by a pair of high-level acrobatics performers navigating the dirt and magic of life (03 & 04.08, 19h).
A patch of grass stars in Grasshoppers, a gentle acrobatic performance by Belgian act Circus Katoen that is a playful, lighthearted ode to nature (31.07–02.08, 16h30). These are just a few picks from the wildly varied program, which features everything from Banana-suited Chinese pole performers to stripped-back acrobatics featuring two performers and a bicycle. You can view the full program and purchase single and combination tickets on the website. Tickets give you access to the festival site, which offers food, drink and plenty of thrills, spills and organized madness.
