It’s still cold and wintery outside, but I’m already thinking about spring cleaning – not least when it comes to my wardrobe. Looking to add some color to my usual black, white and gray, I stumbled across the bags from Berlin fashion designer Stella Stangenberg, who offers a fresh take on the knitted purse. What started as a private project during Stella’s parental leave has rapidly become a sought-after accessory. Each bag is handmade to order and the range of colors is wide: delicate lilac, muted seagrass, bright electric blue and dark aubergine are just some of the options. As for designs, there’s something for everyone. If you are just looking to carry a few essentials there’s the Mini – a shoulder bag with short straps – or the Classic Mini, which comes with adjustable handles. If you need to take more with you, Stella also makes larger shoulder and crossbody bags. The practical and durable designs are perfect as a light companion for city strolls, dinner dates and shopping trips.
