STUDIOVISITS X MARSANO — VISITING ARTIST AND DESIGNER SARAH ILLENBERGER

STUDIOVISITS X MARSANO — VISITING ARTIST AND DESIGNER SARAH ILLENBERGER

Where do you get your ideas? You can ask Sarah Illenberger this very question when the artist and designer opens up her studio to a small group of visitors next Thursday (31.03.2022). The atelier event is a collaboration between the floral artists at Marsano and StudioVisits and is the latest in a series of Berlin artist visits. Illenberger’s work is known for drawing on the environment, animals, plants and landscapes – whether it’s making a cocktail dress out of lettuce or turning a pomegranate into a hand grenade. Her visual art is a mainstay in magazines and shop windows of brands like Hermès and it’s easy to see why: Illenberger is a master of materials, meticulously handcrafting intricate arrangements with simple everyday objects. It’s a quality visible in her illustrations and objects – like the Slowlex, Illenberger’s alternative to an expensive wristwatch. She was inspired to create it by an empty snail shell she found while walking in the garden of her home in Italy. What else is currently waiting to be transformed into art? Grab yourself a ticket and you can see for yourself.
