SVEN GIESE RECOMMENDS: TANTE LISBETH

SVEN GIESE RECOMMENDS: TANTE LISBETH

There are dozens of typical “Eckkneipen” (old-school German pubs) in Berlin, but every now and then you’ll discover an absolute gem. Tante Lisbeth is certainly one of them, where you’ll actually find big pearls in the basement – nine-pin bowling balls. Yep, your grandparents’ favorite pastime. Here you can enjoy this old school game without the cheesy disco music and black lights. Instead, the room is very straight forward with classic wood panel walls and original pennons from the 70s. So get in your position and roll the ball – beautiful! If you start to feel peckish, order some homemade potato salad and bulette with “Herrengedeck” (gentlemen’s menu – beer and schnapps!). When the ninepin champion has been announced, go to the cozy pub upstairs for more drinks. The friendly staff and the interior alone make this place worth a visit. See you at the bar. Cheers!
