Have you ever heard of a food event where you can bring your own plate? Neither have we! The concept of “Take a Plate – The Grand Gelinaz” is to do just that: This Sunday (29.08.2021) this event will feature music, drinks, but most of all lots of culinary delights “shuffled” from chefs to Berlin for the first time. More precisely, in the courtyard and rooms of the Michelberger Hotel. But there are more players involved – the chefs from Horváth, Lode & Stijn, Annelies, and Kin Dee have joined forces with their local producers to conjure up a wide variety of dishes and courses for your plate. The whole thing is inspired by the recipes of “Gelinaz“, an international collective of chefs founded by food journalist and gastronomy networker Andrea Petrini. The vision behind it? In addition to the emergence of exciting new culinary creations, Take a Plate particularly wants to draw attention to the fact that gastronomy and agriculture go hand in hand, are mutually dependent and give the community a stage. What’s more, the audience will be involved and will not only be able to watch the cooking (or “performance”) and taste the food, but will be invited to engage in dialogue with all the participants. And in case you’re wondering what to do with the plate you brought from home – at Michelberger, there’s a dishwashing station so you can relax and rinse your plate yourself between courses. Feels almost like home – only a bit tastier maybe…
