TREPTOWER KLAUSE: FRANCO-GERMAN CUISINE AT ITS BEST

TREPTOWER KLAUSE: FRANCO-GERMAN CUISINE AT ITS BEST

Treptower Klause underwent a make over that can be summed up as old to new, or better yet, ugly duckling turned pretty swan. At least that’s what crosses my mind when passing by (and usually entering) the premises. Before Anne Köster and Jussuf Kremke took the place over in 2010, it was a simple pub where beer and schnaps were served, rissoles were reheated in the microwave and slot machines blinked all night long. Jussuf and Anne turned Treptower Klause into a gem. Totaling 20 years of experience in the culinary field together, and with endless passion, they managed to turn this place into a foodies’ paradise featuring fine Franco-German dishes offering meat from species-appropriate livestock husbandry. Special culinary events such as Knuckles Feast (Haxen-Essen), St. Martins Goose or Kale Days (Grünkohltage) complete their range; but to me the owners’ Rhenisch temper is as important as their hearty food itself. I’m obviously not the only one taken by all this – reserving a table in advance is highly recommended. (Text: Astrid Bruckmann)
