TWO TRICK PONY: HIGH–END BRUNCH IN BERGMANNKIEZ — RECOMMENDED BY KIM BENJAMIN

TWO TRICK PONY: HIGH–END BRUNCH IN BERGMANNKIEZ — RECOMMENDED BY KIM BENJAMIN

Finding an innovative brunch place in Bergmannkiez can be a challenge, so it’s lucky that Two Trick Pony has come to fill this void exceptionally well. Located near Sudstern, this brunch/lunch cafe offers table service, a well-spaced terrace and a menu focused on local products, with bread from AlbatrossWeide Ei eggs, Alte Milch cheese, and coffee from Vote. After moving to Berlin two years ago, owners Jason Starmer and Gary Young founded the cafe in February 2020 and with it have created a space with a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Menu highlights include the tomato tonnato salad, their full English breakfast, and the three-cheese toasted sandwich (vegan options also available). For smaller bites, there’s lemon drizzle cake and – my favorite – the toasted coconut bread. Those craving something alcoholic can find numerous variations on Aperol Spritz (try the grapefruit prosecco) as well as natural wines from Vinalupa & Vinicultur, which can be enjoyed for weekend afternoon apero. Two Trick Pony has quickly become my new favorite – maybe it will become yours too! (Text: Kim Benjamin / Photos: Comfort Studio for Two Trick Pony)
