UNSELECT FESTIVAL: DISCOVERING STUNNING SPACES WITH THE KLEINE HUMBOLDT GALERIE

A former auditorium at the Charité, enchanted greenhouses in Dahlem and the Physics Institute at the Humboldt University are only three of the ten unusual locations that the curators of the Kleine Humboldt Galerie will convert into exhibition spaces to mark its tenth anniversary this week. To celebrate, the student-run project, which has been housed in the Lichthof Ost at Humboldt since 2009, will host a multi-day art festival with performances, workshops, and lectures. Using the title Unselect as inspiration, artists will address questions related to ‘selection’ processes: where do natural selection patterns have an effect? Why might choice go hand in hand with isolation? And how do those who escape the “Survival of the Fittest” model survive? Anyone who can’t make it to the festival’s events are still in luck: the main show can be seen for a whole month at the Lichthof Ost, Under den Linden.
