This is a place you wish your mom owned — or better yet, you owned. Surrounded by Uckermark nature and with absolutely no neighbors, Villa Auguste is the ideal weekend getaway for city dwellers in need of some R&R. In 2017 Daniela and Martin van Eickels found the run-down Victorian villa built around the turn of the century by chance and immediately fell in love. They teamed up with interior designer Anne Schütz and landscape designer Rainer Elstermann to create their dream vacation home. Now the time has come to enjoy the fruits of their labor. From the exterior and interior color selections to the beautiful tiles, wallpapers, brass hardware and vintage furniture, everything has been hand-selected with love and attention to detail. Entering via the peaceful conservatory, you are led to the English shaker-style kitchen that is equipped with a gorgeous French Lacanche range that will make any cook’s dreams come true.
The spacious yet cozy living-dining area is laden with casual elegance, melding rustic and modern beautifully. The villa offers four bedrooms – two en-suite – accommodating up to 10 guests. During the summer months you will find ripe grapes, apples and pears hanging in the massive garden, which is also home to hundreds of butterflies and bees that dance round the wondrous array of lilac and purple blooms. If you wish to venture out, guests have access to a nearby private beach at Sternhagen Lake and Gaia restaurant is just a stone’s throw away. This time it really is true: pictures don’t do justice to the beauty of this place.
