VOLKER EICHENHOFER RECOMMENDS: KLAESI HOLDENER

VOLKER EICHENHOFER RECOMMENDS: KLAESI HOLDENER

Today, fashion is more ephemeral than ever. New designs and trends come around faster than can be followed. The young Berlin label Klaesi Holdener is taking another path, aiming for quality while focusing on essentials. In close collaboration with small-scale manufacturers in Italy, the Swiss-born designer Florian Holdener creates sophisticated and minimalist menswear – without getting tied-up in short-lived trends. Jackets and coats set the tone, which can now be bought in the recently opened store in Berlin’s west-end. Hidden inside a shopping arcade on Uhlandstrasse, the shop focuses on classics: from wool coats to down-filled bomber jackets. My personal favorites: the stitched Car Coat and the lambskin jacket, with a collection of trousers and shirts to come. Timeless but still with the times, pieces are made with an eye for quality and fine materials – have a look for yourself. (Text / Photos: Volker Eichenhofer)
