In this never-ending gray weather, our next excursion will be an indoor one – namely the PSM Gallery, where Nathan Peter’s exhibition “Garden” is opening this Saturday (14.03.2020). For the Minneapolis-born, Berlin-based artist, paintings are like sculptures, a fact clearly evident in his abstract and haptic works. Cutouts based on geometric forms and repetitive patterns recall familiar scenes of planted beds, dense greenery and drying foliage – small elements held together by thread and fabric. In Nathan Peter’s vision of the garden, there is a tangible life cycle: the colors and mood of the scenes change with the seasons, from the joyful expectations of spring to the deep melancholy of winter. The garden is a place of emotional change – an exciting and thoughtful interpretation that shortens our wait for warmer days. And if you want to take a piece of this garden into your own home, our agency Cee Cee Creative had the pleasure of designing Nathan Peter’s catalog, which has just been published by Hatje Cantz.
