Well rested? Good: you’ll need some energy in the tank for the Project Space Festival. The 31-day program gives you the opportunity to visit art spaces across the city for free for the whole month of August. Each day is dedicated to a different exhibition space, with artists and curators given 24 hours to show what makes their work special. Things kick off on Monday (01.08.2022) at Neukölln’s Xanadu, a film-focused newcomer to the city’s culture scene. The following day, the team from Wedding venue New Fears – also newly opened – will take over the baton, showing works that are part choreography, part visual art. We’re penciling in a trip to Mp43 in Marzahn on 14.08, when curator Carola Rümper will be presenting artist pair Sopheak Sao and Sreymao Sao from Cambodia. In addition to brick and mortar project spaces, there are also mobile concepts to check out, including CCCCCOMA and Beton, who are showing works in public spaces. The program concludes on 31.08 at Neun Kelche in Weissensee, where Barbora Zentková and Julia Gryboś will consider the consequences of living in a fatigued society. A fitting end to a full-on art marathon.
