Whilst it goes without saying that Amodo is filled with beautiful products, what is more striking about this shop is that it is also a beautifully peaceful space to be in, creating a calming atmosphere and shopping experience. Owner Marianna’s previous experience in the art world is reflected in the way that her store is meticulously curated. She’s Italian, and naturally there is a wide selection of fine Italian design, including the wool and silk blend blankets from Lanificio B which are perfect for the current chilly weather. However, this predisposition does not limit the store’s range – you’ll find a varied mix of designers and products, such as delicate handcrafted ceramics by the Berlin-based Kühn Keramik, and the Sóley Organic cream range from Iceland to soothe dry winter skin. Marianna’s personal favorites on offer include a mirror from Portego and scented candles from Carrière Frères. She successfully combines her taste and experience to create her own little universe, and at Amodo the jewelry, interior decoration, textiles, books, magazines, and even plants all contain the same level of devotion to design.
