I enjoy drinking wine, I really do. But, like with food, it’s a one-way-street: once you fall in love with the good stuff, there’s no going back. Since day one I’ve been a big fan of natural wine bar Jaja on Neukölln’s Weserstraße – still one my favorite places for casual drinking – and when their team announced the opening of a wine store in Mitte in May 2017, let’s just say I got quite excited. Drink Nakedcan be found in a small but gorgeous space on Linienstraße. Entering the cozy shop and tasting room with its wooden mid-century wine shelves, you will most likely meet the co-owner/very nice guy, Jeff. In addition to running Drink Naked, Jeff is also the brainchild behind Wine Rush — a fair and market for natural wine importers in Berlin, happening for the fourth time this Saturday (17.12.17). I spend a lot of time in wine stores, often not really knowing what I’m looking for, but I’m always curious to try new things and hear about a wine’s or a winemaker’s story: Maybe that’s the reason I feel at ease at Drink Naked. Jeff will ask you about your taste and opinion on wines you might have bought before, but never gives you the “Oh, they barely know anything about wine” look, making wine shopping and drinking what it should be: fun.
