While cleaning might not be one of your favorite chores, having the right soaps and detergents can really help get things spick and span – something more important now than ever. For keeping things both clean and green, the products from Berliner Zauberkraft are just the answer. Founder Julia Hammond has made it her mission to offer natural, nice-smelling and – crucially – powerful alternatives to conventional cleaning products. A trained designer, Julia is the founder of the Daheim Manufaktur kitchen and event space, and it was there that she began experimenting with vinegar for cleaning. Impressed with her self-fermented vinegar made from organic Brandenburg apples and fruit peel, Julia used it to create her multi-use cleaner, which also contains essential oils and extracts from local “witches” herbs like yarrow, nettle and lime blossom.
Their addition is inspired by medicinal plants which for centuries are thought to have magical powers. In addition to vinegar cleaner, the range also includes plant-derived dish soap and powder, while all the packaging is plastic-free, refillable and an eye-catching addition to any kitchen or bathroom shelf. Getting your home gleaming without the harsh chemicals – all it takes is a little witchcraft. (Text: Nicole Meckel / Photos: Berliner Zauberkraut & Savannah van der Niet)
