GLIMPSING THE GLOBAL FUTURE: KICKING OFF THE 69TH BERLINALE AND OUR TOP THREE PICKS

Globalization, remote locations, and family histories – the 69th Berlinale has much more to offer than just the hype. So you don’t miss out on anything between 07.02 and 17.02.2019, here are some of our highlights: In his documentary “2040,” Australian director Damon Gameau searches for answers to an impending climate catastrophe and finds inspiring solutions in unexpected places. The episodic drama “Hellhole” by Bas Devos links individuals with captivating visions of the future: Brussels, the center of a crumbling EU, is the lonely setting for the fates of Italian translator Alba, Flemish doctor Wannes and Moroccan refugee Mehdi. In the long-awaited documentary “Berlin Bouncer,” David Dietl paints a portrait of the capital city’s unique club culture and the global fascination with the three men who shaped it – bouncers Frank Künster, Smiley Baldwin and Sven Marquardt. The Berlinale 2019 gives us an exciting glimpse into the future – grab your tickets now and take a look.
