Whether you know and love Café Flo’s creative brunch or want to try it for the first time, you can now do it in Mitte: at Café Schroeder. Sisters Rachel and Lea’s second stylish cafe is located between Nordbahnhof and Torstraße. On offer are classic snacks like sandwiches with hummus, cucumber and organic egg, and a salad with orange and fennel. There are fluffy buttermilk pancakes with summer-sweet apricots too, plus fruity papaya boats filled with yogurt, fruit compote and crunchy homemade peanut granola. To accompany the food is good coffee from Field, fresh OJ or, if you’re in the mood, a glass of natural wine from the experts at Nature’s Calling. If you find the bottle to your liking, you can grab it to go from the cafe’s little wine corner. As for the bread, it comes from Frea Bakery, conveniently located just next door. Well suited for a quick lunchtime treat or full-on Sunday brunch, Flo is a welcome addition to Mitte’s daytime food and drink scene.
