BREAD & BUTTER BY ZALANDO RETURNS — BOLDER THAN EVER

The first weekend in September, we’re looking forward to Bread & Butter by Zalando (B&&B), the festival of style and culture featuring three days of fashion, music and food — the highlights of which are plenty. Exclusive B&&B fashion pieces from Hugo, Puma, Wrangler and more are available on Zalando, and each day is jam-packed with fashion shows, performances, and spectacular street food from all around the world, including Michelin-starred Hawker Chan from Singapore. Immerse yourself in Dame Vivienne Westwood’s designs at her special archive exhibition on view throughout the festival, and see her live and in person shaking things up at her “Get a Life” panel on Friday night at 18h. Then make your way to the Zalando Fashion Show, starting at 19.30h. SHORTCUT TO THE BEACH: NORD/NORDOST SURF FILM FEST

We love our city, but there is just one major downside — it’s nowhere near the ocean. Well, dive into some celluloid waves by watching surf movies instead thanks to the Nord / Nordost Surf Film Fest. Travel back in time to the 1980s with the “Biarritz Surf Gang“, whose wild lifestyle of Sex, Drugs, and Big Waves is a stunning story set around Le Grande Plage. A lot has changed since the early years of surf culture in Europe. One thing, however, is still the same: If you surf, you get off (or get carried away). Escape society or everyday life and experience adventure in the hollow of a wave — at least until it crashes in on itself and wipes you out. Heading to Iceland for a surf? Why not! Impressive shots from that trip and others like it can be seen this Friday and Saturday. The crew organizing the festival is bringing their best to the finale: not just the movie highlights from the previous program, but also premiere screenings, a photo exhibition, and a party with music by Chatburn and Thomas Andersen — and then DJ Team Freezing takes over the speakers. RECAP: AYDOO SESSIONS LAUNCH

We saw so many of your friendly faces last Friday at the Aydoo sessions launch event, and want to say thank you to everyone who came out! The new brand platform for hand-selected workshops in and around berlin is designed to help you make the most of your downtime with a variety of hands-on workshops, from a weekend session in the Uckermark to mixing up your own personalized fragrance. The launch event introduced you to the workshop topics with surreal cutouts dancing on the ceiling as drinks were sipped with a smile thanks to Manuteefaktur, Pilsner Urquell, Aqua Monaco and Fountain of Youth. From urban beekeeping or fish smoking to knotting your own plant holder or building a own stool from recycled flooring, the platform offers something for everyone. AYDOO SESSIONS — THE NEW WORKSHOP PLATFORM LAUNCHES

It’s summer. Time for some time out. But instead of putting your feet up, this year it’s all about getting hands on. Here to help you do so is Aydoo sessions, the brand new platform for hand-selected workshops in and around Berlin, from pouring concrete and knotting macrame to smoking fish in the Uckermark. If you’re keen to upskill yourself, discover a new passion or simply treat yourself to some me time, then Aydoo sessions was made for you. Learn with and from the experts who live out their craft, and are happy to share their knowledge. You’ll walk away from an Aydoo sessions workshop with something hand-made — whether a hand-poked tattoo, your own sausages, a macrame pot holder or your new signature perfume. Keep an eye on Aydoo sessions’ Facebook and Instagram for updates, and come by the launch event next Friday (14.7) to discover the concept for yourself. The Aydoo sessions team will be there, as will we (Cee Cee Creative chose the workshop topics and developed the branding and content for the project.) Come on down!
