EVERYBODY DREAMS — GET COSY AT THE JUNIQE X CASPER POP-UP

EVERYBODY DREAMS — GET COSY AT THE JUNIQE X CASPER POP-UP

What’s the last thing you see before your eyelids drop heavy and your mind drifts off to dream? Exploring this question are sleep brand Casper and lifestyle brand Juniqe — who together will host a pop-up gallery dedicated to dreaming from 13-17.09.17 During this time, the space will be transformed into a cozy, calming space filled with Casper beds and dream-inspired prints from artists in the Juniqe network, like photographer Svenja Trierscheid and the illustrator Wuukasch. Register here for one of the free events, such as “slumber cinema”, an art brunch or a talk on healthy sleeping habits, or just drop in to unwind, get comfy and garner some bedroom interior inspiration. Find something you like? From 13.9-17.9.17, get 15% off the entire Juniqe collection, and 10% off the Casper range for purchases in the gallery. Which is where you’ll find us tanking up on some time out, daydreaming and maybe even taking a mid-Art Week power nap. (Text: Anna Dorothea Ker / GIF: Juniqe)

GOOD TO TALK: 46 HOURS TO EXPLORE THE SPOKEN WORD

GOOD TO TALK: 46 HOURS TO EXPLORE THE SPOKEN WORD

Head to Kantine am Berghain for a different reason this weekend: an exploration of the spoken word at the inaugural “Good to Talk” – a 46-hour non-stop program of interviews, lectures, panel discussions, performances, musical acts, and audience participation sessions. Initiated by a group of Berlin-based galleries (including Eigen+Art Lab, König Galerie and KOW), the goal of the program is to bring together a wide variety of people to address hot topics across artistic disciplines. Kicking off at midnight this Friday (8.9.17), there are a few sessions we’re particularly excited about, including a performance by Alexander Iskin tackling digitalisation, an “Ask Me Anything” panel with gallerists, and the chance to have your fortune read by Annabel Daou. With passes costing just 5 Euro, there’s no reason not to check it out on your way into, or out of, the club. FASHION, FOOD AND MUSIC AT BREAD & BUTTER BY ZALANDO

FASHION, FOOD AND MUSIC AT BREAD & BUTTER BY ZALANDO

It’s time to get pumped for three days of fashion, music and food at the Festival of Style and Culture, Bread & Butter by Zalando (B&&B). Last week we shared some highlights and we’ll share some more today — because there’s a lot to love about what’s going on this weekend. M.I.A. will headline Friday night with an awe-inspiring main stage set. On Sunday, rebellious spirits Viktor&Rolf are hosting not only a haute couture fashion show at 17h, but also a panel discussion at 18h that’s not to be missed. After, hit up The Kooples fashion show at 19h on your way to see FKA twigs, presented by Mercedes-Benz. There’ll be plenty of time for snack breaks, too — like Berlin-based Feiner Herr’s scrumptious waffles, Subu’s sushi burritos, and renowned Michelin-starred chef Iago Castrillión’s Valencian flavors. Pick up your tickets and browse the full program for your favorites. P.S. Given limited capacity, entry to see the headliners is on a first come, first served basis. Scan your wristband at the Arena Berlin help desk at 16h both days to receive a confirmation email. The headliner shows will be live-streamed throughout B&&B. (Text: Devan Grimsrud / Photos: (clockwise, from top left: David Burton / Viviane Sassen / 2 Estaciones)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY I HEART BERLIN: 10 YEARS’ WORTH OF GOOD TIMES

HAPPY BIRTHDAY I HEART BERLIN: 10 YEARS’ WORTH OF GOOD TIMES

Happy Birthday, I Heart Berlin! From this online magazine’s inception as a “fun party chronicle” to the influential city guide it is today, founders and friends of Cee Cee, Frank Schröder and Claudio Rimmele have been keeping us up-to-date with the best of the city’s events for over a decade now. So it’s only natural that they’re inviting you to celebrate their anniversary in style — this Saturday night (2.9.17) at the dazzling Olympus Perspective Playground at Kraftwerk Berlin. The immersive space, which features art installations from the likes of Liz West and Thilo Frank, was made to be photographed — so don’t forget your backup phone battery. Filling the concrete cathedral with their soaring sounds will be DJs Aérea Negrot and Natalia Escobar, who opened Berghain’s Säule. Sounds like our kind of party. See you there!
