BULLEIT SUMMER BREAK — A DAY WITH CEE CEE & FRIENDS

BULLEIT SUMMER BREAK — A DAY WITH CEE CEE & FRIENDS

Once in a while we all need to take some time off, thus we’re heading to the Bulleit Summer Break at Grimnitzsee for a little relaxation. We, the Cee Cee team, have decorated the festival grounds and our DJ has put together the perfect summer soundtrack. The Bulleit Whiskey Bar will provide cool drinks, The Dudes are hosting the Boiler Maker Bar, and Manu Kumar from Manuteefaktur will make his home-made iced tea – so there will be no shortage of options for a refreshing drink. Team Standert will be screening the Tour de France, and in the evening we’ll sit down together at the long wooden table made by Rainer Spehl and eat a delicious meal by Glut & Späne. When the midnight moon twinkles on the lake, we’ll take a break from our dancing for a midnight snack: Flore from café Roamers will make it himself in a bespoke hotpot created by Jonas Klock from Accidental Concrete. Come and join us by emailing win@ceecee.cc for a chance to win 1 x 2 tickets for yourself and a friend. (Photo/Video: Ali Naddafi)

INVEST IN CONTEMPORARY ART AT UDK’S OPEN DAYS

INVEST IN CONTEMPORARY ART AT UDK’S OPEN DAYS

Every summer the Rundgang (Open Days) at the Universität der Künste (University of the Arts) is a highlight of Berlin’s cultural scene. At the end of the academic year, Germany’s largest art school opens its doors to the general public and prospective students for three days to show off the university’s young artists and their work. During this weekend’s Open Days, the initiative Freundeskreis der UdK Karl Hofer Society is hosting the KunstKaufen exhibition to promote and support the artists of the university. Browse the carefully selected collection of contemporary artworks by students, former students and teachers of UdK to add to your growing art collection, or simply to fill those blank white walls in your Berlin apartment. JAPAN AT HASENHEIDE: MACHA MACHA IS THROWING A FESTIVAL

JAPAN AT HASENHEIDE: MACHA MACHA IS THROWING A FESTIVAL

This Sunday, take a trip to Nippon by stepping through the doors of Macha Macha. The tea house is hosting a Japanese Summer Fest and will provide tea and sweets. Gourmie will bring wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets), and if you’re in a savoury mood, the culinary selection will be supported by Kirschbaum‘s quiche and bread. There will also be authentic jewellery, paper masks, ceramics, wind chimes, and more. It’s a trip to Japan without ever leaving Berlin! (Text: Esmé Rocks / Photo: (right) Harumo Ceramics)

CEE CEE LESSONS 4: MACRAMÉ WITH BOHAZEL

CEE CEE LESSONS 4: MACRAMÉ WITH BOHAZEL

The idea for Cee Cee Lessons was born last summer during a chat with our friends from Bulleit Whiskey. We only had one goal: to bring people together to create new things. And we did exactly that. After three great lessons – with the themes Concrete, Tea, and Wood – we’re holding round four next week. Airbnb invites you to Hallesches Haus to experience colorful and creative Berlin. We will be joined, among others, by Stil in Berlin, Lab Kitchen, and the creators of Brlo craft beer. Such company is deserving of a special event – so together with Desiree Bühler from Bohazel, we’re offering a macramé workshop. Places are limited, but not to worry! We’re giving away two tickets each to two winners: just send an email to win@ceecee.cc. If you need convincing, there’s more information about the event here. (Text: Sven Hausherr)

DAY OF ARCHITECTURE: BEHIND THE SCENES OF BUILDINGS

DAY OF ARCHITECTURE: BEHIND THE SCENES OF BUILDINGS

“Architecture for all!” is this year’s theme for the Tag der Architektur (Day of Architecture). On the last weekend of June, leading architects and landscape architects with exciting new projects such as private homes, public buildings and parks will open their offices to the public and answer questions. Many of the projects are otherwise inaccessible, but on the Tag der Architektur, whoever wants to have a peek can get an idea of the current architectural scene in Berlin by attending a series of guided tours, lectures, exhibitions and office parties. We’ve already chosen our favorites: we’ll take a look at the Plattenpllast by Carsten Wiewiorra, let the specialists of Zanderrotharchitekten lead us through one of the first and largest building assemblies of Berlin’s Big Yard, and enjoy the view of the new Paragon Apartments by Graft. We’ll wind down the evening with a cool drink with our friends and neighbors at the Kinzo offices, and can’t wait to explore everything! You can find the whole program here, where there is a lot more to discover. (Text: Milena Kalojanov / Photos: (top, left) Simon Menges, (bottom) Graft Gmbh)
