Sometimes all it takes is three little words and you want to get away. Away from Berlin and to the countryside. Just saying the words: peaceful, idyllic and charming can take your mind to a quiet spot beneath a shady tree. But it doesn’t have to remain a daydream. Situated in a secluded green meadow (two hectares, to be precise), the “Gutshaus Zarchlin“, built in 1879, is a rather stately property. The apartments and suites are designed for two to six people, offering space for up to 18 people in total. Every room looks out onto the greenery and at night when you look up at the stars it feels like whole galaxies are opening up before your eyes. If that’s not enough natural lighting for you, there is also a fire bowl. When you scurry barefoot across the old wooden floorboards, you’ll hear a familiar creaking sound. The manor house has been lovingly and, above all, ecologically renovated! It’s where monument meets zeitgeist — a place where you don’t need to compromise modern facilities yet the patina of the building is preserved. Be greeted with nature everywhere you look, good conversation and vegetables from the garden (raised beds where you can garden and harvest).
Speaking of vegetables: each apartment and suite is equipped with its own kitchen, plus there is a communal kitchen with an induction hob, large dining table and range cooker for all guests. Cooking is the ideal pastime if you want to let off steam. The Gutshaus Zarchlin, located in the southern part of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, not far from Lake Plauen, combines magnificent greenery outside and the best facilities inside. Sunset on the Mecklenburg Lake District is already on my bucket list and the manor house makes it a very realistic goal. And if that’s not enough, the “Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide Nature Park” with its dense forests, moors and outstanding bird of prey populations is also nearby. You can enjoy all this quietly for yourself or with your loved ones because the Zarchin manor house is designed with the spirit of togetherness and sharing in mind. Through the communal kitchen, enter the large garden and enjoy an aperitivo on the deckchairs. There is also a rehearsal room with a piano, which you can book separately, and common rooms suitable for team building and groups. As you might have realized, the creators Marianne and Daniel Krüger have taken care of the smallest details. Let off steam creatively or relax — alone, with your partner, or as a group, you decide.
