Although the days feel shorter than ever, the week couldn’t go by any slower. If you feel the same way, you should (at the very least) make the most of your free time on the weekends. To ring in the weekend already (14.11.2024), do so at Refuge Worldwide. Here, SoliType is celebrating its fourth anniversary and toasting the people who have supported the project in the last years and raised a total of 47,919€ with sixteen fundraising campaigns and 78 fonts for various organizations working for safer migration to Europe. For this occasion, designers and artists from all over Berlin will come together to sell their prints, ceramics, accessories and jewelry, accompanied by live sets of course. The week-long music and film festival Future Now – Central Asia is all about art and music: diplomatic relations have linked Germany and Central Asian countries for more than three decades, but what has happened culturally during this time? Young artists will provide answers until next Wednesday (20.11.2024) with films and subsequent talks at Delphi Lux. On Saturday (16.11), dia’Z will once again prove all good things come in threes. For the third edition, the team will be dishing up birria tacos at Kantine Kohlmann, paired with Mexican beer, natural wines, and cocktails. Julian and Gualo have spent the last couple of years searching for the best taco spots in Mexico and have worked for several food stalls in Guadalajara, where Birria originated. If my words haven’t convinced you, a look at their feed will.
If you fancy a glass of wine to round off the weekend, do so this Sunday (17.11) at the “Föld” wine tasting with a beautiful view. Winegrowers from Hungary and the Czech Republic will come together at the Private Roof Club to present their characteristic wines from Eastern Europe. The event is open to trade visitors only from 11–14h, but after that, everyone can come along for tastings until 18h. And if come Monday you’re already longing for the next weekend, then we have a midweek highlight that should do the trick. on Tuesday and Wednesday (19.-20.11), aerde is hosting two dinners entitled “Childhood.” The culinary duo Brachland has been invited to evoke childhood memories on both evenings. A toast will be raised to all those who have accompanied and influenced aerde along the way. It will be nostalgic, with culinary memories from childhood, it will be delicious with a sharing-style à la carte menu, and it will be classic with sauerbraten, cheese spaetzle, and stick bread. Places are limited, so it’s best to book now.
