FERDINAND HAMSCH RECOMMENDS: BEUSTER BAR

FERDINAND HAMSCH RECOMMENDS: BEUSTER BAR

Attention, all you lucky people: despite the name, Beuster Bar is not only a destination for lovers of immaculately tended drinks. Indeed, during my pilgrimage there, I discovered a true dedication to food and flavor, and realized that calling Beuster a “bar” is the biggest understatement of the year. Beuster hosts a perfect bistro kitchen, that exudes French noblesse combined with an air of nonchalance. Would you care for a glass of mineral Riesling, or for some perfectly fried octopus? Perhaps a steak tartar, lightly seared, with crispy skinny fries and a glass of Sancerre as a bona fide appetizer? It’s hard to believe that you’re not sat in the heart of Paris, and their dedication to perfect gastronomy is not limited to the food. The dining room is cozy, the menu small and refined, and the service swift and friendly. In only six months Richard, Stefan and Ludwig have turned an old physiotherapy office into their dream. With squeals of pure glee over the fantastic deconstructed cheesecake, I then followed an espresso martini straight to the bar. At the very least, an evening here is a special taste of happiness.
