BAUHAUS BUNNIES, BEAN-TO-BAR TREATS AND EXCELLENT EGGS: THREE CHOCOLATE TIPS FOR EASTER

BAUHAUS BUNNIES, BEAN-TO-BAR TREATS AND EXCELLENT EGGS: THREE CHOCOLATE TIPS FOR EASTER

Berlin’s blooming blossom signals that most indulgent time of year: Easter! Let us share our top treats for the season, from classic chocs to luxe specialities. Made with love in Berlin, you can channel the city’s love for Bauhaus with the chocolate bunny from Pars, artist Omer Polak and Michelin-starred restaurant Nobelhart & Schmutzig. The 82 percent cocoa creation is handmade by chocolatier Holger in’t Veld for a touch of fine dining elegance. You can order the egg online for delivery in time for the special weekend. Meanwhile, if you are into craft chocolate, you might want to check out Komma. Manufactured in small batches of 85, these bean-to-bar chocolates are the creation of Californian-native Jaimee Storm, who learned the technique back in San Francisco in 2017. Her small-scale production sources beans from ethical suppliers. You can find stockists here or buy online at Labels.

Now for a Berlin classic: the Easter specialities from Sawade, Berlin’s oldest chocolatier which nonetheless serves up highly innovative cocoa-based creations. We particularly like the Sawade Egg, which is an Easter treat with a twist: the shell is filled with a decadent trifle-style layer of brittle nougat rum-cream truffle, maraschino cherries and a marzipan topping. Need we say more? The seasonal selection also includes bags of individually-wrapped eggs in different flavors and chocolate boxes in alcoholic, non-alcoholic and vegan varieties. Have fun hiding, hunting – and of course snacking.
