The feel of a rattan weave cannot be replicated on our computer screens, unfortunately. Nor can the velvety feeling that a matte ceramic surface creates in the hand. It’s a wonderful thing that we can venture offline to experience in-person the different materials and textures we might want to bring back home. One good reason to do exactly that right now – or better, two good reasons: on 12.02.2022, Made.com’s showroom reopened after a long break, and with a fresh look. On two floors and over 500 square meters, the showroom of the British home goods company now offers lounge furniture as well as selected products from its line. To inaugurate the updated showroom and its homey ambience, Made.com has invited the Lübeck Schneid Studio and us from Cee Cee. On 09.03., we’ll be able to ask designer Niklas – one half of the celebrated Schneid Studio design team – questions about their elegant designs, their design philosophy, ongoing ceramic trends and, of course, the vase they designed exclusively for Made.com. As self-confessed Schneid Studio fans, we are very much looking forward to the opportunity to give space to the topic of design, sustainable consumption and ceramics and to have the chance to learn something from the professionals. Of course, we’re also excited to welcome spectators for the evening. And because all good things come in threes, here’s the icing on the cake: the Berlin-based studio Lilo will have flowers for purchase. Design for every sense, so to speak – and every room.
