Behind the steamy windows, an aromatic whiff welcomes you as you enter Lon Men or “Dragon’s Gate.” This little restauranthas been open since 2004 and there’s always a big pot of meat broth simmering. Take a seat in the back room in true Chinese style, crowded together. According to traditional Chinese medicine, you should not miss out on a good noodle soup (with or without meat) if need extra energy. But all other dishes on the menu are amazing too. Their dim sum (literally meaning: touch the heart) live up to their name: jiǎozi, steamed and fried dumplings, the Taiwanese wraps with crispy duck fillings, wanton in chili oil – all homemade and handmade and incredibly yummy. This is my energy boost. On summer evenings, sitting outside on Kantstrasse with a bottle of chilled Tsingtao and a couple of dim sum dishes, watching the sun set – what more can you ask for? West Berlin at its best!
