LONG MARCH CANTEEN – NOT YOUR ORDINARY DIM SUM

LONG MARCH CANTEEN – NOT YOUR ORDINARY DIM SUM

There is an infinite number of Asian eateries in Berlin, but unfortunately most of them adjust their flavors to German taste; some even reserve a separate menu for their own people. Perhaps they have a point, but I’m grateful whenever I find places that avoid this and stay authentic – like the new Chinese restaurant “Long March Canteen” in Kreuzberg. The moment you step in you know that the owners care and know what they’re doing. The dark industrial interior, abundant use of wood and dimly lit long canteen tables give a back alley feel and suggest to come in groups. You’ll find great Chinese staples such as the thousand-year-old egg with tofu, crunchy jellyfish salad and melt-in-your-mouth pork belly (eat the fat too, delicious!) among other typical dim sum dishes.
