MAURO PAGLIA RECOMMENDS: ITALIAN RESTAURANT CALIGARI

MAURO PAGLIA RECOMMENDS: ITALIAN RESTAURANT CALIGARI

When asked to write a guest contribution for Cee Cee, I didn’t hesitate to choose Caligari – a restaurant by Andreas, Michelangelo and Nandhan; three young Italians living in Berlin for several years. The trio has created a minimalistic space but with an absolutely warm, cozy and bright feel to it. Open from nine in the morning Caligari is perfect for a superb breakfast; choose between tasty croissants, stuffed buns and cakes from the nostalgic bar and don’t skip the best cappuccino in the neighborhood made with “Quarta” coffee – true Italian excellence. If you’re around for lunch, you must try the daily choices of appetizers, main and side dishes. The tables are made with handmade Sardinian tiles and you can breathe scents of Italy in this bistro. For an Italian like me, it is very easy to feel at home here. But there’s more: the crew is also organizing “supper club” style eventsfocusing on different international cuisines. So stay tuned (Facebook), and book one of those special occasions.
