MEHLSTÜBCHEN — FLOUR FROM AROUND THE WORLD

MEHLSTÜBCHEN — FLOUR FROM AROUND THE WORLD

The store “Mehlstübchen” – little flour shop — is a rarity in Berlin. You can find more than 100 types of flour here, for everything you ever imagined to cook or bake. From the typical German wheat flour to a special type of farine for French brioche and Ethiopian teff flour, the packages come in common household size of 1kg or in larger packages. Nicole Kamrath, the shop’s owner and a trained baker, opened the store six years ago. In the beginning it was just a shop but during time it has become a bakery too. The place is reminiscent of a rustic farm house – the smell of fresh bakeries will tempt you to try them all. Last but not least: if you bring your own grain, you can have it ground here.
