MUNCHING THE JAPANESE WAY – MOGU MOGU TAIYAKI

MUNCHING THE JAPANESE WAY – MOGU MOGU TAIYAKI

Last Saturday I had my first ever Taiyaki – a type of sweets from Japan, similar to a waffle which traditionally comes in the shape of a fish and filled with anko, a sweet Azuki bean paste (my favorite!) but nowadays also filled with banana-chocolate, custard and cheese. Taiyaki is usually found freshly prepared at food courts and festivals all over Japan. The three Tokyo girls Naoko, Ayumi and Akemi have teamed up with Johannes from Berlin and are on the road all over town with their Taiyaki machine imported from Japan. They can often be found at the Maybachufer market, but visit their Facebook page to see exactly where they are setting up their mobile booth next. At Mogu Mogu Taiyaki everything is handmade with lots of love.
