OFFPRINT — AN EXHIBITION ON PRINT AND SELF-PUBLISHING

OFFPRINT — AN EXHIBITION ON PRINT AND SELF-PUBLISHING

The Czech center (Tschechische Zentrum) is currently showing “Offprint”, an exhibition on self-made printed matter by young artists. The range varies from books to anthologies, magazines to fanzines, as well as prints by illustrators and graphic designers. All items are published as limited editions in a charming DIY aesthetics and available for purchase on site, ranging from 2 to 25 euros. Next Wednesday a guided tour will be offered with some of the artists involved; among them Jimmy Draht, Christian Gfeller, Anna Hellsgard and Inga Israel. Afterwards Roman Isreal will read from his book, which is also a part of the show. All in all this exhibition is a quiet oasis in times of digitalization and commercialization; a true homage to the craft of printing and power of self-publishing.
