SEASONING WITH ETHICS AND SPIRIT FROM SOUL SPICE

SEASONING WITH ETHICS AND SPIRIT FROM SOUL SPICE

Wrapped in vividly patterned papers, the beauty of Soul Spice’s jars might be what first catches your eye, leading you into their fragrant stand in Markthalle Neun, but there’s much more to these spices than pretty packaging. When founders Meret Brotbek and Boris Rafalski — who met while working in supply chain management and sustainable production — decided to start a spice company, they went with what they knew and connected directly with small farming cooperatives around the globe. By cutting out the middleman, they assure organic growth, the use of regenerative agricultural principles, and are able to reinvest a whopping 50% of their profits directly back into these farms and surrounding communities. From spicy paprika to Moroccan ras al hanout, a ‘magic’ Montana BBQ blend to an Ayurvedic golden milk mix — all of their spices are available online, though we recommend stopping by their store in person where you’re free to smell, taste and explore these vibrant seasonings with the experts themselves.
