TA’CABRÓN TAQUERÍA: MEXICAN SUMMER ALL YEAR ROUND

Since travelling to Mexico, I’ve really come to appreciate having Ta’Cabrón Taquería close by – indeed, it has become my favorite Latin American spot. Located in Wrangelkiez, they serve dishes from many different parts of Mexico. Ta’Cabrón’s chef, Joaquin Robredo, prepares everything fresh on a daily basis – salsas, dips and hot pots. The brightly painted walls, tables and plates add to the vibrant atmosphere; Ta’Cabrón is bursting with life in summer, and a welcome spot of colour during the grey winter months. Besides the soft tacos, I recommend their fried version, Tacos Dorados, or Tostadas with salad beans and cheese. You could also opt for the Enchiladas Verdes, filled tacos with lots (and lots) of salsa. The drinks sound as exotic as their ingredients, with Horchata, delicious rice milk with cinnamon, hibiscus iced tea, and Michelada, a Mexican-style beer cocktail with lime, chili and salt. And, of course, you will find a wide selection of Tequila and Mezcal, the agave schnapps from Oaxaca. Just hop on the U1, and get off in Mexico. (Text: Julia Michaelsen / Photo: Tim Kraehnke)
