Berlin has quietly been turning into a hotspot for pottery. In studios and back rooms all over the city, wheels are spinning, hands are molding and kilns are firing. This Sunday (19.06.2022), the center of all this ceramic creativity will be Peace out Paradise (POP), the Kreuzberg community pottery studio founded in February 2022. For their first ceramics market, POP will be welcoming 19 Berlin-based earthenware artists to exhibit and sell their work in the ground floor studio. If you weren’t aware of how lively the local ceramics scene is, you will be after browsing the pieces on display, like the Technicolor cups from Marilyne Blais, the perfectly-pocked plates from Adele Howsen and the ethno-futuristic sculptures from Studio Cúze. These are just three of the talented makers exhibiting – see here for the full line-up and go see them in person this Sunday. And if you feel inspired to get behind the pottery wheel yourself, you’re in the right place: the studio has classes and memberships perfect for getting creative with clay.
