There’s nothing I love more than strolling through the city and discovering new things. On one of my recent walks through Kreuzkölln, I stopped at a shop window on Lenaustraße. The words Ikones Interior were written in elegant lettering on the glass. Warm light spilled out, and glass objects glistened on small, beautifully arranged tables. Inside, I was greeted by Heidi Nesset, the founder of Ikones Interior. With roots in Gothenburg and Cyprus, she now calls Berlin home. After many years in fashion, styling, and art direction, she decided, in 2025, to bring everything she loves together in Ikones. Clean lines from the north, warm energy from the south, and the belief that good design takes time and tells stories. The range extends from vintage furniture to design objects ± timeless classics from Rörstrand, Arabia, and Hans-Agne Jakobsson, as well as objets trouvés handpicked from Heidi’s Scandinavian homeland and other places throughout Europe. Minimalist vases, playful ceramic pieces, and candleholders stand side by side, united by Heidi’s eye for detail, texture, light, and atmosphere.
And, above all, by her love of color. If you like, you can ask her for advice, from individual color and interior design concepts to lighting and vintage selections to tailor-made solutions for your home. The small shop, part gallery, part living room, is a respite from the hustle and bustle of Kreuzkölln. Next time you’re wandering through the neighborhood, make a detour to Ikones Interior or come to the opening on Friday (24.10.2025, from 17h). Maybe you’ll find more than a piece of furniture, but a favorite feeling. Because, as Heidi says, “Where there is patina, there is soul. And who wants to live in a soulless apartment?”
