There’s a trillion bars in Neukölln, but not too many nice cafés – especially if you feel like having breakfast somewhere beyond Weichseltrasse. There is one called Madame Zucker, the café located at Wildenbruchplatz, styled in red and white which reminds me of places like “Glücklich am Park”. So does the menu, but who cares? The food is freshly prepared and tasty. They offer “Herzchenwaffeln”, regular breakfast choices, as well as sandwiches. My tip in case you’re thinking about getting pancakes there: choose the Eierkuchen instead. On sunny days you can enjoy your breakfast outdoors, but if not you can escape Berlin’s grayness indoors thanks to its airy and colorful interior. A great café especially for anyone who lives near by, since there’s probably a café similar to this in most neighborhoods already – just not yet in Neukölln.
