What could be better than an outdoor film on a warm summer’s evening? Jung und Artig, the Berlinische Galerie’s youth membership club, is offering just that with a very special open-air film next Saturday (14.08.2021). The gallery is teaming up with Mobile Kino for a screening and artist talk with Brazillian artist Igor Vidor, whose latest work A Praga (The Plague) will be shown in the gallery’s car park. As we have already noted here, the space has been transformed into a dreamlike outdoor venue as part of the Park Platz summer exhibition. The film itself sees Vidor expose the connections between police operations all over the world and the small town of Oberndorf am Neckar – the home of gunmaker Heckler & Koch. Vidor will be joining art historian Gustav Elgin and curator Nuno de Brito Rocha to explain the oppression and violence that can be traced to these headquarters. Admission for members of Jung und Artig is only €5; regular guests pay €7, but will have the chance to experience the gallery’s art community and sign up themselves. Popcorn and cold drinks will be provided!
